| Dear Franklin Peraza, Welcome to the May issue of Danfoss’ corporate newsletter, featuring stories on solutions that help save energy and costs, and reduce CO2 emissions. To improve our newsletter we would like to know more about our readers. Therefore, we would be very grateful, if you would spend two minutes on an online survey. | Healthy meat processing in China | | One of the most successful enterprises within the Chinese meat industry, Grand Farm, has strict temperature and quality control to ensure freshness and preservation of meat during processing. Danfoss has exceeded expectations of Grand Farm by creating an efficient and stable refrigeration system based on an ICF valve solution in their new processing plant and cold storage facilities. So far, Grand Farm has achieved 50% cost savings on installation and more than 30% on maintenance. | | | VIDEO: Drawing heat from the Siberian earth | | In the village of Vershinino, Russia, there is no central heating system. Therefore, each building needs to have its own individual heating system and heat source. A common energy source has been the traditional wood heating stoves or oil boilers, but a new school has been equipped with a new energy-efficient Danfoss heat pump. | | | Helping banana farmers double their income | | Danfoss has helped banana farmers in India build the right practices in the cold chain, which in turn has helped them control post-harvest losses and significantly increase the shelf life of their bananas. With the right supply chain infrastructure, these banana farmers have now doubled their income. | | | Thank you for helping us win the GreenTec 2014 award | | Danfoss’ district heating project in the Chinese city Anshan was recently announced as a winner of Europe’s largest environmental and business prize – the GreenTec Awards 2014. And we could not have done it without your support: A big thank you to all who voted for us. | | | | |
